Recently I had to present to the business users how the editorial process looks like in Sitecore Experience Editor. Those guys were familiar with Sitecore Content Editor, but wanted to know how it works with Experience Editor and where all the data is stored afterwards. Without further explanation we ended up with this sketch. It worked pretty well:
